Since travel finally opened for many of us around the world, there was certainly a surge of return guests to Phuket this year as well as a large number of first-time golf holiday enthusiasts exploring Phuket golf courses for the first time.
One of the first things return guests noticed was a sharp decrease in green fees for all golf courses in Phuket, as was the experience for golf holiday travelers across Thailand.
Green fee rates have been reduced substantially by the golf courses across Phuket and Thailand due to sharp declines in golfers due to covid, and the golf courses have kept the green fee rates lower even through this past high season to now. These decreases in green fees certainly encouraged large numbers of golfers to travel to Phuket while also enjoying substantially lower hotel rates as well.

Looking ahead to this coming high season starting the 1st of November, there is a very sharp increase in hotel bookings across Phuket with many of the popular and highly sought after hotels experiencing sold out rooms already for December & January and a huge demand on the small boutique villas across the Island.
If you are planning to book a golf holiday to Phuket for late this year or early next year we highly recommend you expedite your hotel or villa bookings soon, as resorts and villas are booking up fast for this time frame.
We offer a wide variety of hotel options from 3* to 5* hotels mostly within the Karon & Patong Districts of Phuket all close walking distance to the Andaman Sea and local shops and restaurants and would be happy to answer any questions you may have about best areas in Phuket based on your interests.
Typically the west side of Phuket with it’s approximate 20 soft sand beach is the best area for staying if you are a beach and sea lover who also wishes to be closer to the entertainment and shopping districts. The east coast has a nice variety of beautiful view resorts and villas, but the beaches on the east side do not compare to those on the west side of the Island.

4.5* Aquella Golf Resort & Country Club Phang Nga Province
This stunning new 4.5* golf course is just over the bridge in Phang Nga Province approximately 40 minutes from Phuket International Airport and is only 2 years old with beautiful holes playing along the Andaman Sea. It’s the best sea-view golf course available for golfers in Phuket and the golf course design and conditions are exceptional. It’s the perfect course to play on your arrival day as you can transfer direct to the golf course from the Airport then check into your hotel after golf without having to wait for rooms to become available if you had arrived early. Highly recommended as a must play course as part of your golf in Phuket holiday. Travel Time from Patong is 1.5 hours. Travel Time from Laguna district 1 hour.

5* Blue Canyon Country Club Canyon Course
The 5* Championship Blue Canyon Canyon Golf Course has been undergoing a full top to bottom 18 hole renovation for the past 6 month’s and while there was optimism it would be ready to open up earlier than expected on the 1st of November, it now appears it may not be completed until it’s originally planned opening closer to the end of December 2023 or 1st of January 2024. For those who have experienced the 5* Canyon Course back when it was hosting the Johnnie Walker Tournaments with Tiger Woods, they have been looking forward to this renovation for many years now. You can expect some design modifications to the course as well as all new grasses. Very exciting times.
For those who have not played it in 5 or 6 years, golf carts are now permitted on the course and the course is cart compulsory.
4* Blue Canyon Country Club Lakes Course
The 4* Blue Canyon lakes Golf Course has been very busy with guests wishing to play one of the two Blue Canyon Country Club Golf Courses with the 5* Canyon Course closed. The 4* Lakes Course is a very well designed course and very popular amongst those who want to play a golf course on their arrival day as it is only 10 minutes from the Phuket International Airport.
The Lakes Course is golf cart compulsory maximum 1 guest per cart.
Upcoming Special Events: The Blue Canyon Country Club Lakes Course will be closed on the 3rd of November to host the new annual “Marriott Bonvoy Charity Golf Day in Thailand”. 4* Katathong Golf Resort & Spa Phang Nga Province
Should you be interested in touring about Phuket to capture some of the gorgeous sea-views from viewpoints, then make a day of it to take the trip out to Phang Nga Province to play the beautiful Katathong golf course and on the way back stop off at the viewpoint over-looking Phang Nga Bay. Incredible views of stunning scenery. There are also caves that can be explored in the area.
Katathong is golf cart compulsory maximum 1 guest per cart.

4.5* Laguna Golf Phuket
The award winning Laguna Golf Phuket Golf Course is consistently one of the best condition golf courses in Phuket and hosts a fair number of Tournaments throughout the year that requires the course to be kept in prime shape year round. Nestled amongst a collective group of stunning sea-side 5* resorts such as Dusit Thani, Angsana Laguna, The Saii Resort, and Banyan Tree Resort, all which provide guests with substantial discounts for golf during their stays there, they are compelled to provide an excellent golf experience for their guests. Laguna Golf Phuket is the only golf course in Phuket that permits cart sharing and the course is cart optional for those who enjoy walking the golf course.

4* Loch Palm Golf Club
The 4* Loch Palm Golf Course has been a consistent favorite of many golfers due to it’s scenic broad fairways and challenging yet forgiving design. It has the reputation as most relaxing golf course due to this, and is also well maintained.
You can expect all of the major greens work to be completed already in August and also some minor renovation work as well. Enjoy the driving range that tees off directly into a very large lake. Loch Palm Golf Course is cart optional for those who enjoy walking the golf course.
Loch Palm is currently offering our golf guests 300 Baht value gift cards on arrival that can be used to purchase merchandise in the pro-shop or used to purchase drink or food in the restaurant. Not sure how long this promotion will continue.

3* Mission Hills Golf Resort & Spa
The 3* Mission Hills Golf Resort & Spa is the only golf course in Phuket to play along the east coast of the Island with several holes having sea-views. The course is relatively flat which lends it to pool water during the rainy season. The course hosts events for some of the local golf clubs and groups who enjoy a few beers and laughs. Not overly challenging with conditions average at best.

3.5* Phuket Country Club
The Phuket Country Club original 18 hole course is the shortest of all golf courses in Phuket and until recently was walking only. Several years ago they installed a cart path and now offer golf carts as optional on the course. The course would be considered the easiest of courses in Phuket so an ideal first course to play during a multi course golf holiday, or the right choice for high handicap players looking to play just one round of golf in Phuket. The driving range is across the street and can be reached via the golf course shuttle service. This course has hosted many golf events in the past and each year will have several events going on.

5* Red Mountain Golf Club Phuket
For first timers to Phuket who have never played golf in Phuket before, be sure to add this to your bucket list. This course is stunning. Beautiful views, beautiful design, fabulous conditions, and incredibly talented and fun caddies makes 5* Red Mountain one of the best golf courses in Phuket and Thailand over-all. Talk to any of the golfers you bump into on the course and they will most likely tell you they play it every time they come to Phuket or they book it multiple times during their trip.
Current conditions are good with the greens coring being completed 5th/6th of September, greens will run very nice by the end of September. Red Mountain is cart compulsory maximum 1 guest per cart.
